Laser, IPL and peel treatments carry risks and possible side effects. These can include redness, swelling, burning, blistering, crusting, and changes in skin pigmentation (lighter or darker patches), and — uncommonly — scarring or infection. Deeper resurfacing treatments (such as fractional CO2) generally involve more downtime. The amount of downtime, aftercare and sun protection required varies with the treatment and your skin type. Pain and recovery differ from person to person and are discussed with you at your consultation.
