Facial redness (rosacea) and broken capillaries (spider veins) are common and can result from sun exposure, genetic predisposition and the natural ageing of skin.
Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments work by selectively delivering controlled bursts of light to targeted areas of the skin. In the case of fine capillaries, this can cause them to coagulate, which may help reduce their appearance over time. Results vary between individuals.
At MedAesthetics we use the Sciton® BBL (BroadBand Light) and Cutera ExcelV+ & Xeo platforms to help address facial capillaries and redness (rosacea), along with spider veins on the legs.
- Sciton BBL™ (BroadBand Light) — BBL may be used to help address sun damage, facial capillaries, redness, pigmentation and general skin rejuvenation. Some people also notice improvements in skin texture and a reduction in the appearance of pore size. Results vary from person to person.
- Cutera Xeo™: Long Pulse 1064 Nd:YAG Laser — The 1064nm wavelength penetrates relatively deeply, which can help target deeper capillaries and vascular lesions that some other wavelengths may not reach. Suitability is assessed individually.
- Healite II™ LED Light — LED light therapy supports skin healing and the normal physiology of skin cells. It may help support longer-term management of rosacea that has not responded to other treatments. Multiple sessions at regular intervals are usually needed for longer-lasting results.
Depending on the severity and type of your concern, and your skin type, treatments can differ widely, so a plan is tailored to you after an individual assessment.
Individual results vary, and all cosmetic procedures carry risks and possible side effects — these are discussed with you at your consultation. For more information, see Risks & Complications.
