Healite II is an LED light therapy device that MedAesthetics has offered since 2010. It uses light at three wavelengths — 830nm (near-infrared), 633nm (red) and 415nm (blue) — which are absorbed by skin cells and intended to support the skin’s natural processes. It is commonly used to support the skin’s recovery after other non-surgical treatments (such as laser treatments, chemical peels, skin needling and injectable treatments), and to help with the appearance of ageing skin, skin tone and texture, inflammatory concerns such as acne and rosacea, and dark circles under the eyes.

MOA

Healite II is an LED (light-emitting diode) device that delivers light at specific wavelengths — 830nm (near-infrared), 633nm (red) and 415nm (blue). The light is absorbed by cells in the skin and is intended to support the skin’s natural cellular processes. Different wavelengths are used for different purposes — for example, red and near-infrared light to support skin rejuvenation and recovery, and blue light directed at acne-causing bacteria.

Healite LED Light Therapy Treatment Summary

A course of about three to six sessions is commonly recommended initially, on a daily or weekly basis, with optional maintenance. Individual needs are assessed at your consultation.

Each session takes around 15 minutes.

Sensation is generally minimal but varies between individuals; the treatment involves no needles and no heat-based skin injury, and you relax under the light with eye protection in place. Any comfort measures are discussed at your consultation.

Downtime is generally limited, and most people return to their usual activities straight away.

The treatment uses LED light at set wavelengths to support skin rejuvenation and the skin’s natural recovery, and may help with the appearance of ageing skin, tone and texture, inflammatory concerns such as acne and rosacea, and dark circles under the eyes. Any visible change develops over a course, and results vary between individuals.

How long results last varies between individuals — reported to last several months for many people — and results are not permanent, so maintenance sessions can be arranged as needed.

Most people return to their usual activities immediately after treatment.

You are advised to protect skin from direct sun for a few hours afterwards; any further aftercare is discussed at your consultation.

Healite LED Light Therapy General Information

LED light therapy is non-invasive and generally well tolerated. Any possible side effects (such as temporary redness) are discussed with you.

As with any treatment, it is not suitable for everyone — for example, people using photosensitising medication or with certain light-sensitive conditions may need to avoid it, and eye protection is worn during treatment. Whether it is appropriate for you, including during pregnancy or breastfeeding, is assessed at your consultation.

LED light therapy is non-invasive — no needles and no heat-based skin injury — and generally well tolerated, so choosing a provider is less about managing high-risk complications and more about honest expectations and proper screening. A good provider will be candid that LED is often used to support the skin’s recovery after other treatments, and that any change is gradual and develops over a course rather than from one session. They should check that it is appropriate for you: it is not suitable for people using photosensitising medication or with certain light-sensitive conditions, and your circumstances — including pregnancy or breastfeeding — should be assessed individually. It is also reasonable to confirm the practitioner’s qualifications and to feel no pressure to commit to a course of sessions.

Although LED light therapy is low-risk, deciding whether it is worthwhile for your concern — and whether it is appropriate for your circumstances — still benefits from a proper assessment. At MedAesthetics it is provided in a doctor-led clinic overseen by Dr Ehsan Jadoon (MED0001586460), Registered Medical Practitioner (general registration), with a qualified clinical team. We assess your suitability, including any photosensitising medication, light-sensitive conditions or circumstances such as pregnancy, set out realistically what a course may and may not do, and explain the benefits, limitations and any side effects such as temporary redness. There is no pressure to proceed. To find out whether it fits your skin and goals, book a consultation.
